A few months ago I made some fairy wand cake pops and a Tinkerbell cake for Em's 4th birthday. I saw the cake pops on bakerella and knew I'd make fairy wands. I used tiny flower and butterfly shaped cookie cutters. They were lemon or strawberry flavored with white chocolate. I dipped them in pink, green and yellow pastel sprinkles.
For the cake I used box cake mix; white and chocolate fudge. I also used store bought icing. I experimented with various fondant recipes I found online. I used a simple marshmallow fondant recipe that I found on whatscookingamerica. The cake was two tiered with TinkerBell colors; purple, green and pink. The leftover fondant was used to make flower and butterfly shapes. I brushed a bit of water to make the shapes stick to the cake. The cake topper was a TinkerBell toy. It was soo cute because the wings fluttered when you pushed a button.
